Ham lies to the east of the bend of the River Thames between Petersham and Richmond to the north, Kingston to the south and Teddington across the footbridge at Teddington Lock to the west.

Ham Scout Group Headquarters is located in the south east corner of Grey Court School playing field. Access is from the South Avenue footpath and bridleway that leads to Ham House from Ham Common, and which is part of the public open space administered by Richmond Council referred to collectively as Ham Avenues. There is limited parking at Ham Common.

To reach the HQ by public transport; bus route 65 - Ham Common, Ham Gate Avenue bus stop (by the "New Inn" pub) or bus route 371 "Ham Street" bus stop (in Sandy Lane by Grey Court School and the Ham Village Centre - the former "Royal Oak" pub) and walk south, down the Avenue away from Ham House towards Ham Common.

Ham Scout Group's headquarters is well situated for access to the many open spaces in and around Ham and the group make good use of Ham Common, Ham Common Woods and Richmond Park throughout the year.
